OUTCOME

TRiC worked closely with Harvey Sutherland on the concept, design and packaging for his debut album. We began by understanding his creative process, and the personal psychological journey he went on in making the album. The cyclical nature of his process is mirrored in the design — everything loops back to the source; a perpetual process feeding back into itself. Diagrams drawn as part of Mike’s process were central to the aesthetic — a playful suite of elements combining a tightly cropped portrait by photographer Danny Cohen, typography, colour and diagrammatic illustrations. The resulting design system is an elaborate collection of graphs, vectors and philosophical theory that dissects the very nature of what it means to be funky.
