BRIEF
Sarah Nedovic engaged TRiC to design an identity and website that reflected the evolution of her practice. She sought a brand that exists in the space between opposites; art and manufacturing, tactility and template, maker and product. It needed to convey both the toughness of her industrial process and the gentle nature of shaping clay.
RESPONSE
Drawing from mechanical typography, extrusion processes and manufacturing language, we employed a sturdy, weighted serif for Sarah’s name and core logotype. While serifs are often associated with elegance, here the heavier form conveys strength and stability. Supporting typography is understated, referencing a footnote-like visual language that complements product photography. We employ a soft, muted colour palette that dials up and down in brand application.
The brand system is expressed formally through the website, with considered use of scale and negative space. The grid is intentionally tight, with narrow margins and padding creating an interesting tension between text and image elements on the page. Typography is consistently small, anchored by the Sarah Nedovic logotype positioned centrally at the top of the page. Haptics introduce a colour highlight and image fades on hover, introducing a subtle dynamism to the digital brand experience.
OUTCOME
The identity for Sarah Nedovic balances strength and softness, embracing contrast to reflect the essence of her practice. The result is a deliberate, refined system that communicates both process and artistry.
